Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: I have been a photographer for over 15 years.
Q: Where have you studied?
A: I have studied at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) both in Canberra.
Q: Where did you work before moving to Woolgoolga?
A: I worked in the Australian Public Service, from law enforcement to defence.
Q: I see you are a member of the AIPP, what does this mean?
A: The Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) is our professional governing body. I abide by all their rules and regulations. To become a member you must be sponsored by two current members and supply photos to the board. The board then decides if your work is up to the standard and quality of a professional photographer.
Q: Are you fully insured as a business.
A: Yes, I have full insurance as required by the AIPP.
Q: If I commission Skyview Photography to do some work, will Brendan Ray be the photographer
?
A: Yes, I will be your photographer.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use for your photography?
A: I use professional
top quality Nikon, digital cameras which produce images with 12MP resolution and
a range of the best professional lenses and flashes. During the post production
work in the digital darkroom, I work with Adobe Photoshop Software.
Q: Is there a travelling fee for shots outside of the Coffs Coast area?
A: Yes, there
is. However, I am willing to travel anywhere. Please, contact me for a quote.
Q: Are you available to photograph a destination wedding?
A: Yes, I am available to
photograph a wedding located anywhere in the world. Please, contact me for a quote.
Q: On our wedding day, how many locations can be covered?
A: As many as you need,
according to time frames.
Q: Who owns copyright of your photos?
A: Under Australian Copyright Law, I own all copyright for 70 years. However, I do not enforce this unless asked to by my clients.
Q: To what size can the images be enlarged with good photo quality?
A: The images
can be enlarged up to 20’ x 30' with good photo quality.
Q: How long does it take for the photos to be ready?
A: For Commercial work, I try
to provide a disc of photos to clients within a few days and weddings within six
weeks.
Q: What does it mean “post production work in the digital darkroom”?
A: It means all
the work that is done with Adobe Photoshop. It includes adjustments for colour, contrast
and sharpness, resizing, duplicating, CD burning etc. All wedding photographs go
through the process of post production work in the digital darkroom before proofing.
Q: Do you retouch the wedding photographs?
A: All photos are colour calibrated, but
they may not all be retouched. Generally only those photos that are ordered for enlargining
or printing are retouched.
Q: How long have you worked photographer on the Mid North Coast?
A: I have worked
as a photographer on the Mid North Coast since 2005. Prior to that I was working
in Canberra, ACT.
Q: Does the wedding photography package include B&W photographs?
A: Yes, it can include
B&W wedding photographs. Sepia colour is also an option. Again, as we personalise
all packages, it’s up to the Bride and Groom as to the style they want.
Q: How would you describe your wedding photography style?
A: My wedding photography

Q: Do you work with an assistant?
A: I often work with an assistant or a second photographer
during large weddings or at the bride and grooms request.
Q: How does the booking of the wedding day work?
A: To book a wedding date you need
to sign a wedding photography contract and pay a deposit fee.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: No, I don't. I accept personal cheques, bank cheques,
direct credit, money orders or cash.
Q: Does Skyview Photography keep a copy of the negatives and proofs?
A: Yes, we do.
However, once you are handed a disc of your photos they become your responsibility.
Q: Can you work with a photo checklist for the group shoots created by us?
A: Yes,
I recommend making and following a checklist for the group shoots.
Q: If our wedding schedule changes, would you be able to adjust to the new schedule?
A:
If your wedding schedule changes, please let me know as soon as possible so I can
make the necessary adjustments.
Q: Do you allow our wedding guests to take photographs at the same time you do?
A:
Wedding guests taking photos is not forbidden. However I strongly recommend you talk
with your wedding guests before the wedding day and ask them not to interfere with
the photography process. This will allow us to work fast and to avoid double flashing,
distractions and people looking in the wrong direction. You will end up with a disc
anyway so your guests can get a copy of my photos if you wish.
Q: Do we have to sign a wedding photography contract?
A: Yes, in order to book a wedding
date you need to sign a wedding photography contract and pay a deposit fee.
Q: Do you offer wedding albums?
A: Yes, I offer top quality custom wedding albums.
The bride and the groom can choose between contemporary flush mounted and traditional
matted wedding albums.
Q: Can you take our engagement photos?
A: Yes, together with the wedding photography
services I offer engagement and location portrait photography services. For more
details, please check my rates.
Q: Is there a booking fee for your engagement photography services?
A: No, there is
not.
Q: Can you hold a date for a wedding before the booking deposit is paid?
A: Booking
of a wedding date is based on a first come first serve basis. A date can be on hold,
however to secure it you must sign a contract and pay a deposit.
Q: Can you suggest a location for photos?
A: Yes, please contact me for details.
Q: If you are not available to be our wedding photographer, can you recommend other wedding photographers with similar to your style?
A: Yes, I can recommend wedding photographers, However I cannot guarantee their availability. I am a firm believer in the AIPP and have numerous contacts with the professional photography industry around Australia and abroad.
