Another day at the office:

So what do you do ... I was sent out to meet and photograph two of Australia’s top dancers (Lamb and Travers Ross). With only five minutes to spare, I had to come up with something fast.

“Lets go to the escalators “ I said. And sure enough that was the only place we could avoid the crowds. The great thing about these guys is they just know how to be different ...

The face of the kid in the background tells the story.

I travelled up north to photograph this man who was told to close down his model railway exhibit as it conflicted with zoning laws. I asked him if he had a stop sign, he rummaged around and produced this small sign.

I can work with that, and the next thing you know, we have a front page photo.

This photo was about the new government telephone hearing test that is available over the phone ...

But how do you show that in a photo?

Thankfully my two subjects were happy to have as much fun as I was.

I think we laughed the whole time during the shoot.

Having been sent out in the middle of the night to photograph a motor accident. I had to park about five kilometres away from the crash and catch a ride with the Ambulance Area Commander.

But first we had to wait for the Westpac Helicopter to land.

In a split second I saw this image, I threw on a long lens, cranked up the ISO and took 6 shots.

It was pitch black and hand held ... You gotta to love the Nikon D3.

It’s funny sometimes you don’t realise what sort of shot you have until you get it back to download and sometimes you just know when it is great.

I’d been wanting to take a photo of the 1893 shipwreck “Buster” for sometime. When it was finally uncovered by extreme storms in 2009, I had the perfect opportunity.

With a full moon rising in the East, I couldn’t have picked a better night. When this ran front page of the local newspaper, there were several people letting me know that it was impossible for the sun to rise in that particular spot on the horizon ???

I had to take a photo of the officer in charge of the Traffic Support Group. I met him at the station and prepared to take the standard shot of him with his car. During our conversation he mentioned there were 15 bikes and several cars from Sydney, spaced from Port Macquarie  to Tweed Heads. I suggested what a great shot it would be to assemble them all at the Coffs Jetty.

“Do you have any idea of the logistics that would involve?” he said. I finally convinced him to see who he could round up and meet at 4pm.

At 4pm, I was met by a convoy of bikes and cars and about one quarter of Coffs wanting to see what was going on!

I think every one started to panic when the storm moved in half way through the beach wedding service.

But after the heavy downpour we went to the Jetty for the formal part of the wedding shoot.

As we were walking along the Jetty there was a rainbow beaming out to sea - perfectly in line.

As I took this series of shots I knew the hardest part of this shoot would be convincing people that the rainbow was not photoshopped in.

I had 10 minutes to shoot the band Helmet before they went on stage.

Their last gig before this was at Johnny Depps’  “Viper Room”.

I managed to drag the boys down to the beach just on sun set and get a couple of keg shots too. The photos ran all over the US music magazines.

I spent the day with the Area Commander of the NSW Bush Fire Service. We spent the day documenting the efforts of the Volunteer Bush Fire Fighters.

They amazed me with their dedication and courage, while facing fires that stood 10 meters high.

There are no words to describe the heat and the smell of a bush fire, as these men and woman fight their way, day after day, attacking the flames to protect their community.

I had the opportunity to spend the day with Mr Stephen Dearnley AKA  Number 1 of the Ulysses Club.

This man was one of the founding members of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club, and was the main reason the 5000 motorcycle riders decended on the BCU stadum.

Travelling to Sydney to shoot a wedding with Daniel Capabianco was a a privilege to say the least.

This wedding proved to be very difficult with available light, given they were married in the crept's underneath the church.

This is Ted...

I spent several hours with Ted and his dogs “Red Dog and Black Dog” after the March floods on the Coffs Coast.

As we travelled down the river to check his Oyster rigs “Red Dog” fell into the river and Ted jumped into the debris to rescue him.

All the while “Black dog” sat in the boat with me barking.

I wasn’t barking ... just Black dog!

How about if every one stands in the fountain....

I didn’t get a drop on me!

We’ll bust get some shots from the top of Pillar Rock.

Snakes, Ticks and leaches, not to mention cliff faces and Spider webs the size of cars.

Oh well, I've seen the top of Pillar Valley and survived.

But I don’t have the T-shirt to prove it.

I was sent to shoot Jolene Anderson for a story about her up and coming roll in the TV series “Rush”.

I have to admit I had no idea who she was... But after a few hours shooting her I will never forget how nice and down to earth she is.

While most celebrities show up and announce you have 10 minutes to get the shot before they are on the next fight.

Jolene said, “I just dropped my Nan off at the markets so I will need to pick her up in a few hours.”

Shoes...

Always remember some bridal shoes cost more that the wedding photography.

I shot this just before thy shut Capital Hill, ACT off to the public.

I don’t know what it is, but this is one of my all time favourite shots.

Just a lone Police Officer guarding the most important building in Australia.

I was meant to be shooting the end of the Coffs Cup race but this image caught my eye as I was setting up.

We see these mountains every day but with the right light it can be breath taking.

Shooting the new arrival of Bella, at the Pet Porpoise Pool.

... Well nice light , Cool Caustic, baby Dolphin.

Makes for a good photo.

Woolgoolga, our home.

The End!
